Vessel tour!

this is the co in which i am working.
This is the business that my co is in, the container business. If you are wondering what my job entails, let me tell u now.
you c the containers being loaded onto the vessel? (on the right where the containers are is the vessel, on the left where the green things stand is the berth) that is the main task of my dept. we control container movements. imagine it this way, the vessels are the airplanes, and the containers are like plane passengers. you wanna go from singapore to kota bahru but there is no direct flight(mayb there is, but it's just an eg, ok?), so u gotta transit rite? this is called 'transhipment' in shipping terms. ships are like planes, there are fixed routes. so u take singapore airlines to go to KL, and then from KL u transit to kota bahru which is not covered by sg airlines.
the movements of containers simulate the movements of passengers. but becos containers have no brains to think when and where to go, no legs to 'walk' up and down the vessels, it is thus our job to give instructions to the terminals to which vessel and when to load or discharge a container.
i knw this is dumb but in case u r wondering what these containers contain, they contain imports and exports, and sometimes suffocating illegal immigrants.
this is the vessel loading all the containers, which we visited. she was ONCE the largest of her time, but no longer now, altho she is only few yrs old.
this is the tower bridge, so called the control room where the captains and pilots steer the ship.
this is the 'gangway' which i mentioned in earlier post.
they hav a salon on board?? come on, dig out ur dictionary.
throughout our tour in the port, we were escorted by this police car, which sounded the siren at ALL times. my first time being escorted by police. many others' too, i believe. u shud have guessed y we had to be escorted by a siren sounding police car. again, if u really can't think of a reasonable answer y, it's bcos it's dangerous to be near the place where the containers are being moved. once again, if u STILL can't understand y it's dangerous to be near such place, it's cos these containers could fall from the mid air and crush u if u are damn unlucky. don't laugh, it happens i tell you.
finally, this is my office.
and this, my seat. as usual, messy and with things all over. if u r wondering if my pc is running on the classic 'black screen green words' macintosh, it's not. but instead of using emails, we use 'telex', which is somewhere between emails and faxes i think. check the dictionary for more details. this is where we use commands and the mouse has little function. our database runs on a similar systems... thus we gotta learn all the commands. it's killing me i tell u. but gd thing is, we'll be migrating to outlook soon.
