To the ZOO!

AT the ZOO
i didn't know walking around can be this tiring until today. we were just walking and strolling around without hurry or anything. but it was damn tiring! we watched some orang utan, sea otter, sealion and elephants shows there. one of the chimps was peeing above the audiences! those who were peed on were really unlucky. elephants show was boring. i guess it's becos their heavy and bulky and their actions are slow. sealion was cool! he was smart and agile! and kept on kissing people!
the baboons were disgusting to me. bcos they display pronounced sexual dimorphism, so their butts swell and redden when they initiate mating. and they do it by showing their swollen rumps to potential dominant males. so everywhere we went, we saw red and swollen butts! one was so heavily swollen that they actually looked like cysts hanging out from her butt!! yucks! but primates are more interesting than other animals. they dun just mind their own business. they do somehow 'interact' with audiences around. one chimp was posing a very cool pose for us to take his picture. and another one was just lying down there enjoying the sun with his legs crossed!

NDP rehearsal
brought my mum around the esplanade area yesterday to see and guess what? NDP rehearsal was held at padang! so we stayed to watch the fireworks. i am always glad to see fireworks but not this time round. well it was pretty, but the ashes fell right at us. we were standing at the merlion platform there, and the wind was blowing from the sea. so the ashes fell on us. some got into my eye, so we watched it as we hurried away from the platform. here are some pictures from that evening.
