Euro bet... and my tooth!
hmm... i was discussing with cw saying we shud bet on the crazy soccer yesterday. i suggested tht we bet 10 dollars on greece since the odds of winning was 1:4.75. if i were to lose, i would lose 10 bucks, but if i won, i will win abt 37.5 dollars. but bcos cw wanted portugal to win so badly, we didnot place any bet. and it turned out that greece won!! $#%#$@#$&%*&^$% i shud have gone ahead and placed my bet on greece...
did i mention before? that my gum has been swollen for the past 2 days? and i've been eating with my left teeth... was contemplating whether to go to the private dental clinic downstairs, or NUH dental clinic, or YIH dental clinic, or go back to Kluang as that is a hell lot cheaper than here. the clinic downstairs was full for today, YIH too was full, and due to some reason i dun wanna go back to kluang, so i ended up going to NUH dental clinic. surprisingly, the waiting time was rather short, contradictive to what my friends told me i only waited for abt 15 minutes or so. then i went in to see the dentist, he looked familiar... probly he's one of my sch mates... but anyway, the dentist first squeezed out the pus from the infected gum, then sent me for x-ray on the lower right teeth to see if the infected tooth was still healthy and alive. luckily, it turned out alive. and what he did next was to clean the infected part for me, he gave me anesthetic injection into my lower right mouth as he said it would be a little painful. within a minute my lower right mouth felt numb and was "operated" on. i dunno what he did to my teeth as i was too scared to open my eyes... i felt pain thruout the process, i wonder it must be super duper painful without the anesthesia...after everything was done, i felt as if my lower right mouth must have swollen a hundred times. and when i tried to use my tongue to feel the infected tooth, i couldn't feel a thing! i thought my tooth had been extracted!! haha~ the right side of my tongue had lost sensation as well. the effect of the anesthesia lasted for about 2 hours. i ate hot tom yum soup immediately after i reached home. when the hot spoon touched my lower lip, only the left lip felt hot, the right lip felt nothing at all!! haha~ what an experience. oh wait, i forgot to mention the cost. it cost me BLOODY 64 bucks!!! and i still had to pay 3 bucks for the mouth gargle solution!!! dam it!!! the other reason why i went to NUH is bcos i thought it'd cost a whole lot cheaper since it is a government hospital... from what i see, it is certainly not so. okay, the x-ray cost me 10 bucks, first consultation cost 21 bucks, and there is this "scaling/root planning-simple" that cost me 30 bucks... that is bloody expensive... i really meant bloody and expensive. what a business, i spent money and got myself pain... however, after an afternoon nap, i feel like my tooth is ok again!! hmm... so i guess it's money worth spent. if only i had placed my bet on greece, hmm i would have used the winnings to pay for part of my dental charges... If only... was thinking, even if i had gone to the clinic downstairs or the one in yih, they would still refer me to nuh since they might not even have x-ray facility...
i felt that my other teeth had been pushed to odd positions by the swollen gum... hmm... maybe i'm paranoid...
and then i saw this advertisement there that says they r conducting a clinical study on colored fillings. they will place colored fillings into the 2 molars of the patients and observed them a few times. the process was foc. so i took down the contact numbers and decided to go for it. haha~ i'll call them tmrw. i need to have fillings done on my molars and pre-molars, almost all of them... dun laugh at me, i have bad teeth, really bad ones. if they need any volunteer to do trials or study on regarding teeth, i am willing to do it. i need veneers capping, i need bleaching... haha~ my teeth are in really bad shape.
had planned to go watch spiderman 2 today, so we'll go for the 9pm show later at tiong bahru plaza... haha~
