知足常乐 + 我很幸福 + 快乐
What is your purpose in life? To earn 10k monthly? To be the top management in a corporate? To drive a BMW? To own a bungalow? To wear branded everyday? To wear expensive jewellery? To go travelling anywhere anytime without a care? Must I really have a solid purpose? These are all material purposes. Of course it'd be nice to have.
Thought over this for a while. I used to set all of the above as targets, I used to want all of these. Who doesn't? It's not that I find it hard to achieve and I reset my targets. I just found all of these immaterial anymore. What I truly want, is HAPPINESS and PEACE in life. What I also want, is to want my family to be healthy and happy as well. That's it!! It's simple right? Happiness is not that hard to achieve. You just got to pay more attention to all the things and ppl around you and start appreciating them.
I am very blessed my whole life. You can say I am born lucky. Well I would say luck plays a part, but it's how you treat life that contributes a major part as well. I am blessed with a healthy body; I am blessed with someone who loves me and cares about me; I am blesssed with family who are healthy and don't fight over property inheritance; I am blessed with housemates whom I can get along with and live happily tgt; I am blessed to be in a good company where I can learn and develop myself; I am blessed with colleagues who doesn't plot schemes to set me up; I am blessed with bosses who would patiently guide me and appreciate me; I am blessed with friends who doesn't harbour ill intentions of me... I am just so blessed... I am thankful as well...
It is important to be satisfied, to be 知足。One must know where to stop in order to be happy. Else, one is never going to be satisfied and be happy. Greed is a black hole, bottomless.
Being satisfied doesn't mean you start getting all comfortable and stop fighting. Reasonable targets must still be set and to be achieved. Just make sure you don't lose yourself at the end of day and end up being unhappy.
No matter how tough things get, they will be over, somehow, someday. Don't let it disrupt your happy life. Afterall, life is meant to be enjoyed. So, be merry and have fun in your life! Lots of it!
