Da Vinci Code
Went back to Kluang with CW last wkend. It was well. I begin to miss the baby boy, Leslie whom my grandma is taking care of. He's a distant relative tho. Leslie is only 1 yr old. He is so fun to play with! I think children are generally fun to play with when they r younger than 4 yrs becos in those times they still do not have a mindset of their own. They'd just laugh or chuckle at anything u do. They follow whatever u tell them to do. But 4 yrs on, once they can think, they r no longer fun to play with anymore. Btw have I ever written bckgrd abt this baby boy? His parents are both blind, not by nature. But I cannot imagine what the boy would think when he grows up. I refuse to think. I dunno, mayb i am a pessimistic person. Maybe it is out of that reason that everyone including my sisters dote on him so much, taking him as our own.
There are so many movies to be watched! lemony snicket's, robots, hitch, howl's moving castle... i think i'll leave howl's to vcd later. cos i definitely will wanna watch it more than once. probably shall just watch robots n lemony snicket's for now. depending on which is more entertaining.
Evolution pract on fish presentation is due next wed. currently working on it.
Japanese interview was just over today. our topic was abt the roles of husbands and wives in japanese families. it was rather fun. the interviewee is a full time japanese housewife who's currently residing in singapore. she has no children yet. i was surprised to find that in japanese families, domestic helpers are not as common as in sg. so in a family where both husband and wife are working, the responsibilities of childcare and elderly care are handed over to those day care centres, which are highly subsidised in japan. and those ppl running the centres are all professional with at least a graduate degree. we were all quite surprised by that. in fact one of my TAs holds a legal license as a trained care taker in japan. in conclusion, japanese families today are more conservative than i had expected. the wives taking care of the house and the husbands earning money. and one note on japanese wives, they are really gentle and keep saying sumimasen, excessively! i guess that is bcos ???????they speak so softly that i doubt my recorder was able to record what she said. it is my task to write a report regarding the interview content... hai... now i need ultra amplifiers.
oh i've just finished Da Vinci Code! it was fantastic! it opened my eyes to so many things which i didnt even knw of. I really am the frog in a well. Those PHI, the Vitruvian man, the last supper, and all. but i wonder how much truth is there in the origin of Christianity which is told in the book. and how abt the story abt jesus being married to mary magdalene? was he really married? was magdalene really his wife? did she really appear in the last supper? was there really an extra hand in the last supper? is mona lisa really hermaphrodite? how much truth is there in goddess worshipping? at the same time, i was amazed by the descriptions of The Louvre, those temples, churches, and also Sir Isaac Newton's tomb! it must be big, isn't it? to be able to have so many things decorated on his tomb. any book like this, can recommend to me.
FYI: PC fair started today in suntec city, till sunday.
