urinary tract infection
new resolution: i shall blog more frequent. i'll try, at least. kk, let me recall what happened today...
i might be suffering from urinary tract infection. i feel a bit of pain when urinating, and i hav the urge to urine frequently, almost right after i pee, and the amt is very little. i can no longer tell whether i REALLY need to urinate now... so i hav to depend on the clock to urinate, almost every hour. these are some of the quotes from http://womenshealth.about.com/cs/bladderhealth/a/UTI.htm::
Although most urinary tract infections (UTI) are not serious, they are painful. Approximately fity percent of all women will have at least one UTI in her lifetime with many women having several infections throughout their lifetime.
The most common cause of UTI is bacteria from the bowel that lives on the skin near the rectum or in the vagina which can spread and enter the urinary tract through the urethra. Always wipe from front to back after a bowel movement or urination, and wash the skin around and between the rectum and vagina daily.
Symptoms of UTI or bladder infection are not easy to miss and include a strong urge to urinate that cannot be delayed which is followed by a sharp pain or burning sensation in the urethra when the urine is released. Most often very little urine is released and the urine that is released may be tinged with blood.
Vitamin C makes the urine acidic and helps to reduce the number of potentially harmful bacteria in the urinary tract system.
Wear only panties with a cotton crotch--cotton allows moisture to escape whereas other materials may trap moisture and create a potential breeding ground for bacteria.
Cranberry juice often helps to reduce frequency of bladder infections. Cranberry supplements are available over-the-counter and many women find they work amazingly quickly when an UTI has occurred, however, a physician's diagnosis is still necessary even if cranberry juice or herbals reduce pain or symptoms.
and i'm drinking cranberry juice now to help reduce the pain, but it's not yet effective. i hope i'll feel better tmrw morning when i wake up. i'm planning to visit the doctors tmrw in YIH anyway. i only wish it is just urinary tract infection and nothing more serious... i'll try to attend the morning lecture. but if the urges to urinate is still so frequent, i might ahve to consider giving it a miss. i can't be running in n out of the LT every 5 minutes!
other than the above incident, i'd been sitting at home reading comics n watching tv. watchd this program called psychics revealed or sth like that. it revealed all the tricks behind those secrets we've always seen magicians doing. ha! such simple tricks! even u n i could do it!! of course some of those requires specially made equipments.
went to my aunt's house yesterday. had a sumptuous meal!! WoW!! i didn't even eat that well n full when i was at home!! she really likes cooking, and more importantly she likes to see her guests enjoying what she cooks! so i shall visit her house more often!! hehe~~ bad thing is she lives in kallang, and it takes me about 70 min ride to her home by mrt n bus. i got some personal experiences from her n her husband, saying that economy rice cud actually make one fat even tho what u order is 3 vege n 1 toufu. it's not in the rice u eat. it's in the vege, with which they use plenty of saturated oil to cook. that's what makes the vege looks so shiny n yummy. imagine u cook vege in boiling water without a drop of oil, the color will turn dull very soon, rite? and also, brown rice is definitely healthier than white rice. now i understand why i dun get fat easily, it's bcos i seldom eat rice, i often eat soup bee hoon, which involves little oil. true? my uncle also said that, when u r still young, whatever u eat doesn't matter bcos everything will be digested soon. but once u r aging and probly reaching middle age, u'll feel whatever u eat. for eg he feels uncomfy whenever he eats some oily unhealthy food. it could probly due to his psychic tho. my dad still eats all sorts of junk n he's never complained of indigestion whatsoever. anyway, it doesn't hurt to eat healthy. so let's eat healthy!!
